Angel Tree: It matters to this one...

...And when we say one we really mean two!  Novella and Tabitha are our Angel Tree Babes this year and we have to raise $1000 for each of them!  We are looking to you guys to help us out!  We will have fliers you can share, and items you can win in giveaways!  We will also ask you guys to prayerfully consider donating to our Angel Tree fund!  Now to tell you  little about Angel Tree...

"In only six years, more than 800+ children with Down syndrome and other special needs are HOME with their “forever families” this Christmas. The vast majority of this funding comes from our Angel Tree Project each year!" - Reece's Rainbow
Angel Tree is something that happens every year to help grow the orphans grants.  Money is the number one thing keeping families from adopting internationally seeing as it is VERY costly.  So the wonderful Reece's Rainbow team came up with the idea to grow each child's grant, by adding $1,000 (Or as close to $1,000) to their funds, at the same time as giving each kid individual publicity!
Sounds wonderful huh?  If you remember last Christmas we did Angel Tree, but we raised funds for a little boy named Doug!   This year originally Kaitlyn was going to raise funds for Tabitha and I was going to for Novella.  But then we decided to combine our efforts as well as adding in Sam, and Rachel!   This isn't going to be easy, but it is possible!   So join with us in Giving these two cuties $1,000, Publicity and HOPEFULLY forever families before the end of the year!  Who's with us?!

STAY TUNED!  SOME TIME TONIGHT THEIR WILL BE A GIVEAWAY UP!  WE HAVE SOME WONDERFUL ITEMS UP FOR GRABS!  AND IF YOU DON'T WANT ANY OF THE ITEMS YOU CAN DONATE TO THE CHIP IN TO HELP US REACH OUR FUNDS ANYWAYS! :)

Orphan of the Day #5

Sorry for not keeping the OOTD (Orphan of the Day) thing running fully every single day like I was hoping to do.  I was out of town for a week and the internet was very poor so I couldn't do anything.  Luckily my wonderful best friend helped out by posting once for me so we wouldn't get to behind.  Thanks Alyssa! <3 :)

Speaking of Alyssa, she chose the pretty little girl orphan of the day, so big thanks to Alyssa for bringing you...

(The information below is from the official Reece's Rainbow website.  Please visit them for more information)

Valentina 14

Guardian Angel
Born December 2007

HIV+

She is described as being a calm girl. She does not have any siblings. Additional photos available. She is an interesting and positive girl. Sometimes she prefers to play by herself. She is happy to communicate and interact with her nannies.

From one of our adoptive families who visited with her in 2012:  “Valentina is very sweet. She seems to be somewhat delayed, and would very much benefit from a family and an opportunity for some individual attention. Right now she is too old to play with the babies and too young to fit in with the big girls.   In spite of this, she always seems happy and content.   She very much loved playing with us outdoors and seems very active. ”

For more info and parent support on adopting and raising a child with HIV, please visit http://www.projecthopeful.org/

And today's orphan of the day boy is a newly listed little angel who is SUPER DUPER CUTE is...

Freddie 2S

25w21-2
Boy, born February 2011
Blue eyes
Brown hair
The character is calm

Freddie appears to have Apert Syndrome, but this diagnosis is not confirmed.

Both of these orphans have never truly felt love before in
their lives.  NEVER had someone tell them they love them.
How rotten is that?  Can you imagine having to look at your
child in an orphanage knowing they'd never felt love before.
And it's almost like they've been "thrown away" because of
their "disability" as the world would call it, just because God
made them a little more special than the rest of us?!

Admit it.  You want to change it.  So don't ignore it.  CHANGE
IT!

Just copy and paste this link to all your social media
websites, donate to their adoption grants and most
importantly PRAY PRAY PRAY for these little ones!  God can
do ANYTHING but FAIL! :)

Thank you for taking time to read this! Don't forget to
SHARE!!  And pray! <3   God bless you!

Bible Orphan Ministry

Once again, I'd like to talk about the Bible Orphan Ministry (BOM). (If you don't know what they Bible Orphan Ministry is, they're a ministry located in the Ukraine that go to orphanages and help care for/play with the children, and teach them about Jesus! :) They are simply amazing. <3) A couple days ago they wrote a post about some of the teenagers that need our help. There are four graduated teenage boys that really need winter coats and shoes. Currently the BOM has a ChipIn on the side of their blog so that people can donate. The money raised will being going towards buying winter things for the boys. They wrote this on their blog:

"But now I want to ask you to pray diligent for these lovely teenagers and about their needs. These boys at all have NO winter clothes, footwear, socks, caps, a scarf and all the rest. Do you know that those clothes that on them, everything what they have it and wear every day? Some of children have even NO sweaters.Oh, my! And those sweaters that they wear, they borrowed at the friends... Their footwear is very worn and in holes. :("

Here are some pictures of them..
                                                           ^Dima^ Vitya^ Zhenya^
                                                                         ^Denis^

They need to raise $825 in order to get the things they will need. Right now they're at $545 which is pretty close!  I can't imagine being in the boys place.. They're sixteen years old, which is only a year older than me.. They really need your help and prayers! I really hope that they raise the money that they need. PLEASE pray, share and if you can donate!

Also you should really follow/read their blog! :) Just click "Bible Orphan Ministry" above.

Anna is a sweet 10 year old girl who is waiting for a forever family.  We are hoping for more pics and medical info, but she seems as though she was either burned in a fire or some other accident.

Tuesday, October 9, 2012

It's been a really long time since I've wrote on here, or on any blog for that matter. I've been super busy this year. My family and I are currently in the process of moving to a new house which has been stressful. I feel really bad about not advocating  like I used to. I of course haven't lost my love for orphans, I just haven't really known what to write about. I feel like when I write, that I'm not helping; that my advocating doesn't do anything. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only advocator out there that feels like that. I do know that this is what God wants me to do. I just need to put my faith and trust in Him. Even if it looks like I'm not helping, I am. Maybe I won't ever see the difference that I make. Or maybe I just need to be patient and wait. (Patience is definitely not one of my strong suits. ;) ) Either way it's definitely not any reason to give up and stop. I really love advocating and just love the happy feeling when I see that a child's family had finally found them. I definitely do not want to stop helping!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

-Proverbs 3:4-6

Before I end this post I just want to quickly tell you guys, if you didn't already know, that Rachel's family is going to be adopting a little girl. (A super cute little girl. ;) ) If you'd like to help them out you can click HERE. Or if you'd like to read about their journey you can read my aunts blog HERE.

Presley Vs Leukemia

God has blessed me with a mothers heart, at a young age.  I believe that it helps me advocate for these kids, cause I love them as if they were my own.  But in some cases, it breaks my heart.  There is a sweet boy, beautiful beyond words, cutest smile, just waiting to be loved by a mommy and daddy.  This little boys name is Presley.  Presley turned 4 years old in March.  You're reading this thinking wheres the catch?  Why is your heart breaking?  Whats wrong?

Presley has Leukemia.  Leukemia is a type of cancer,  Presley isn't getting treatment for this, and he wont until he has a family that can bring him to the U.S.   I have seen quite a few kids recently whom are fighting the battle, of Leukemia.  It takes a huge toll on the kids, and that is with proper care treatment, and most of all a family.  These kids have a Mommy, a daddy, and siblings, to love on them. Not to mention the aunts and uncles that come to visit and love on them as well.  Presley doesn't have any of that.

He isn't even getting treatment for this because I'm supposing the orphanage wont pay for it.  In my eyes the reason doesn't really matter, this little boy is sick, he isn't getting any better, he needs out.  So today I ask that you pray for Presley, you pray for his family, and you pray that his pain is eased until his mommy and daddy come for him.  Presley should not have to suffer like this.  Share Presley today, make him known to the world!

Orphan of the Day #3

Today's theme for orphan of the day is older children!  This will deeply sadden your heart for these kids.  Well...technically they aren't "kids"..they are TEENAGERS living in ADULT INSTITUTION

These orphans don't have much time left AT ALL.  Normally at age 16 they are given a couple tens of dollars and put onto the streets to survive and live on their own. With absolutely NO EXPERIENCE of life outside the institution walls.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU "SHARE" THIS LINK ON ANY OF YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA SITES TO HELP THESE KIDS FIND THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES, FAST!!!!  Before it's too late! :(

Today I'm going to start off with our teenage cutie orphan!  Meet...

Joy

One beautiful beautiful girl who turns 15 this OCTOBER, the national month of Down syndrome awareness!   She is exactly my (Kaitlyn) little sister, Kristen's age!  She'll turn 15 this month too.  Only there is a huge difference in these two teenagers lives.  And no, Down syndrome isn't one of the big ones!  Kristen, my sister, has spent 15 short happy years living in our family, feeling love, getting a good education, learning new things, doing what she loves like baking, drawing, painting, etc.  Joy, on the other hand has spent 15 long years in an orphanage/ adult institution, never knowing what love feels like, never feeling beautiful, never getting a chance to show her true colors.  It's more than heartbreaking to me.   She gets treated differently.  Why?  Because of one simple thing.  God made Joy a little differently than any other child, like my sister Kristen.  She doesn't deserve to live forever as an orphan.  God made her for so many different and perfect reasons!  All Joy needs is for someone to see her true self!  Joy is gorgeous, and so positive!  She can smile, despite the horrible conditions she's been living in.  She's spent most of her life in a crib! A STINKING CRIB!  My sister was out of crib by one and a half to around two years old!

I think you and I both can agree it isn't right.  She needs and deserves more.  By copying and pasting the link to this post to your social sites you could change a life.  Joy will be sixteen in just one short year.  There's still time to give her a real hope, a real joy.  Pray for little cutie Joy.  Think of her and just pray for her.  God hears us and will do something about this.  He loves his little Joy. <3

Now onto our orphan boy of the day! Meet....

Bartholemew

Wow is this guy handsome!  His blue eyes and blond hair is very attractive.  God gave him some beautiful features!  The poor soul looks so miserable in his photo though.  And who could blame him?  He turned 15 in August of 2012!  That means his time is quickly running out!  He'll be 16 and on the streets if he doesn't find a family before his sixteenth birthday!!  His region isn't as hard to adopt from!  He would make a great son for someone.  Barth needs you.  You need to be his voice.  You have a chance to change a life.  Right now!  What are you waiting for?  Do something!  Share this post!  Donate to his grant!  Get down on your knees and PRAY for him!   You could save this young mans life1  YES I SAID YOU!!!

To view Barth's profile please CLICK HERE

I can't thank you enough for taking your time to read this post. Oh it brings tears to my eyes!  If you could help them you'd be a real life saver! God can use you through this!  He used me! I'm living proof anyone can help!  I'm a sixteen year old trying to save others that are CLOSE TO MY AGE!  Don't let this moment pass you buy.  Don't ignore this!  Change it!  Because you know you can,
