Orphan of the Day #2

Here is our orphan of the day post number two!   We're so excited to share with you these two cuties!

Both of these kids share more than just being an orphan in common!  They were both once on the "My Family Found Me" page on Reece's Rainbow.   And are looking for a new hope as they both lost their families.   Please be sure to share this! :)

Our little boy of the day is...

Micah

Micah is oh so sweet!  He was once listed on MFFM (My family found me page on RR) And is now newly re-listed.  He is TOO CUTE to go to waste!  He was born in 2010.   To learn more read from his profile on Reece's Rainbow right here on our blog today!  :)  Just look below!

By the way...Micah has $0 towards his adoption grant so if you have some extra cash today, maybe you could consider donating to his grant? Just CLICK HERE. ;)

DOB: 2010
Diagnosis: Down syndrome
Micah has Down syndrome, but is otherwise physically healthy. He had heart surgery in 2011 to correct an AV canal defect.  Isn’t he darling!?
His most recent developmental report is from January 2012. At that time, he was “Army crawling” to get around on the floor and able to get around in a walker. He reaches for toys and desired objects and will hold on to them for long periods of time. He plays with toys, transfers them from hand to hand, shakes them and puts them in his mouth. He maintains eye contact and interacts readily with adults. He understands what is said to him and follows some simple directions such as “give me your hand”. He is starting to babble and say repetative syllables such as “ba, ba, ba”. He smiles at familiar people, gives hugs and enjoys being cuddled.

And are fabulous little girl orphan of the day is....

Charity

Charity was re-listed on Reece's Rainbow.  Our Alyssa is madly in love with this little one
and thinks the world of her.  And it isn't hard to see why!  Charity is an angel!  Her face is angelic.  She was born September 2008, so that would mean she turned  four years old this year!!  Sad news is she's still living in an orphanage! :'(  With no one to celebrate with her.  Just another year lonely.  Never knowing the feeling of love.

Here's her profile from Reece's Rainbow

Girl, Born September 2008
What a munchkin!  Big brown eyes :)    More photos available.  Charity is a beautiful girl with Down syndrome.  She was born with a heart condition, but has had corrective surgery and is healthy and doing well now.
Charity is independent, impulsive and assertive.  Charity would do great as the youngest child, so she has lots of attention and love from older siblings!
Update from a family who met her in Aug 2012:
Charity is probably the most “typical” child with Down Syndrome that I’ve met. She has a HUGE personality and is VERY affectionate and loving. She is resilient, as she falls down pretty easily since only walking for a short time, but gets right back up, literally dusts herself off and moves on. She LOVES new clothes and can dress herself. The minute she sees a new item of clothing, she starts to strip before you can pull it out of the bag! She has a hard time expressing herself appropriately. She can get agitated easily if things aren’t her way, or if you take something from her. But we believe that is just part of her age and also living in an orphanage all her life….she has nothing to call her own. When she gets excited, she tends to slap in the face, but not out of anger. She can be redirected pretty easily if you have patience and teach her more appropriate ways to express her excitement. She also shows signs of being potty trained as she can “clean herself”. She learns VERY quickly and was able to learn a few English sign language signs in a matter of a few days, with appropriate context. We believe that Charity will do great in a learning environment, home-school and/or outside schooling. She seems to be very bright and needs to be challenged. She will need to be worked with on feeding. As most children her age that live in orphanages, they tend to hoard and gorge themselves, but this can be corrected with feeding therapies and time at home. Charity is a spunky little girl with a very funny disposition. She would make a wonderful daughter and a very fun sibling.
Charity has an additional grant of $3200 for her in-country fees.

We Are Their Voice

There was a beautiful, breath taking little girl named Margaret on Reece's Rainbow.  She always stood out to me (Kaitlyn) personally.  I wanted to help here find a family.  She was so innocent and just precious.  I showed her to my little sister, Madison (13) and she too fell madly in love with the little girl.  She decided to become an unofficial Prayer Warrior for Margaret.  We had her picture printed out just a couple months ago, and hung in our room.  Even though she was Madison's baby, I still prayed for her often.

On September 19th that nightmare that every single orphan lovers have, came to life.  As Alyssa posted on my wall, then texted, tweeted and messaged me to check the latest post of hers on my wall.  She didn't tell me what it was about. But I think that deep inside, I knew.  I knew exactly what it was. I just didn't know who.

I waited to check my wall for what seemed like forever, which was only just several minutes, I found a little bit of courage to check it out.  As soon as I read the words, my heart shattered into a million little pieces.

I read that precious little girl Margaret had gone to heaven to be with Jesus.

Telling my little sister the news was literally the hardest thing I've ever had to tell her.  It was instant tears.  She was so heart broken by the news. We cried together.

Suddenly that tiny bundle of joy we prayed so hard for, and loved for so long had passed away.
Gone within the blink of an eye.  As if she never existed.   She never ever felt true love once in her little bitty life time!  It makes me sick, sad, just CONFUSED!  I can't understand why more people can't care about these precious little orphans with Down syndrome (and other disabilities.)!?

How many orphans lives have to be lost before someone wakes up and realizes WE ARE THEIR VOICE?

We as Christians have a mission.  I understand not everyone shares the same passion for this like I do, but God told us to help protect and save HIS CHILDREN.  And as Christians we need to do more than just call ourselves Christians. We need to do as our name means.  Go out to the world and live as CHRIST did.  Care about ALL the children in the world.  Especially those with no parents.

God is still there for them, and yes, HE HAS A REASON FOR EVERYTHING, but that gives us no excuse to sit around and do nothing about what He's told us to do.

I'm not trying to get ugly, or mean here, but I'm just so mad at the way we live sometimes.

Just think if one of the orphans you see was your son, daughter, brother, sister, etc, just dying in a stinking old orphanage where no one really cares about them.  They get such little food to eat, and drinks to drink. They are thrown in different gender clothing.  They literally live in a crib.  Oh and if that isn't bad enough, they are put in an ADULT MENTAL INSTITUTION by AGE 4 or 5!

They have sixteen short years to find a family, before getting about a small amount of cash and thrown out onto the streets for the fist time in their lives and sixteen long long years to try and survive in the orphanage and mental institution.
(Places like this are located overseas in foreign countries)

If the whole world, or even just half got together and spoke up for these kids, oh my word what a big change we could make!  That number of 147 MILLION orphans would seriously decrease. BIG TIME.

We would be like super hero's! Or angels! SAVING LITTLE LIVES!!!  How outstanding and wonderful is that?!  It's amazing!  The thought always brings happy tears to my eyes!

Those kids can't get online, pick up a phone, go out to the streets, and speak their names.  BUT WE CAN.  Do you see it now?

WE ARE THEIR VOICES.

They depend on people like you.  Yes you!  Reading this.   You can be a hero.  You can save a life. Doing sooo many different things to help.

I hope this post will spread across the country like a wildfire in a dry summer!
I'm praying that God will speak to every person who reads this and that maybe you'll take the chance to do something good for these orphans!

If you need help coming up with idea's or anything! I don't care what it is, just email me @ PrayerWarriorsofGod@hotmail.com just title it Kaitlyn so I know it's from this post.  :)
I'll help you any way I can.  With anything to help save these kids.

No more orphans dying!  MORE LAUGHTER AND HAPPINESS! <3 :)
You know you agree with me!  So copy this link, and go paste it on you any social media site!  You've made a change already! ;)

RIP Margaret...we loved you when you thought no one did.  We're so happy you are no longer suffering but now laughing and smiling in the arms of Jesus.  WE LOVE YOU BABY! -4Girls4Christ

His Name Is Archie...

"I've stood alone a million times
That's not the same as being alone
I've felt ignored, and left behind before
But that's not the same as being disowned
Open my eyes, and help me see that there's a world outside of me
I'm no different, I want to make a difference tonight
The words don't always come out right
And I don't normally cry
But you didn't see the look in her eyes
I've been shaken
From my head, on down to my toes
Lord use me, take me where you want me to go
I can't help it, my heart has been replaced with a face
I'm ready, these hands are dedicated to change
I've hurt before, but held inside
I've seen their tears, 'cause pain is something they can't hide
What makes us different?
We have a chance to listen tonight"

This song....plays over, and over, and over again in my head.  Today when I listened to it there was a little face that stayed right in the front of my mind.  Blocking all other thoughts, Archie sat in my mind.  As I thought of is horrible fate, that has been decided for him.  You see the thing is...Archie doesn't get to turn 5 and go to kindergarten,  he doesn't get a 5th birthday, he doesn't get anything but basically a death sentence.  I didn't want to type this sentence because I'm trying my hardest to believe it's not true... but in reality it is, Archie's chances of surviving his first year at an institution are slim to none.   I have been alive and living for 16 years, I have NO CLUE what it feels like to be unloved, hated, unwanted, truly scared, forgotten, abandon,  so many feelings. Yet a little boy 12 years younger then me has felt ALL of these.

Too Many

As I sit here holding my sleeping baby brother who isn't even a week old yet, so many thoughts go through my head.  I wonder how a mom can give birth to a baby like Oliver (My little brother) and give it up as if it weren't her child.   The second Oliver was born my mom, dad & I were in tears.  He was and still is absolutely beautiful.  We are all so in love.

There is a hormone that is released in a woman's body when her child is born it creates an instant bond, between her & her new baby.  When I learned this it got me thinking.  When a mom makes the choice to give her child up at birth does she just make it look easy? or as if she is really disgusted by this child?  Because I think we all know that inside her heart is breaking & she is being torn to pieces.  Now you might be thinking "why feel bad for her it was her choice?" Although it was ultimately her choice in the end, she was pressured into it by society.  Now I'm not talking about your average child, but one with any type of special need.   When others find out that the child you will be welcoming into this world isn't "Perfect"  And will have a "Horrible" life they will highly encourage & suggest that you give up the "Burden".  But what they don't know is how much of a blessing the child will be.

The mom will be pressured into giving her child up, all to be excepted by this broken world.  When inside she is dying to love this child that is so unwanted by the world.   This is just another reason to become aware of ALL the special needs, & to be an encouragement to the moms out there that will be pressured into giving this child up.  There are 147 Million orphans in this world which is FAR to many.  Some kids are orphans because there parents couldn't care for them & wanted a better life for them...And others all because others negative opinions got to the moms head & convinced her that giving up the child was the right choice.

Now don't get me wrong I am ALL for adopting children to give them loving families & hopeful futures that they deserve.  But as I stated above there should not be 147 MILLION orphans.   That is 147 million first steps that were missed, 147 million first birthdays that were missed,  147 million kids that have never heard the words "I love you", 147 million kids that don't now the love of a family, 147 million kids that have never been kissed or hugged.  Be encouraging & uplifting to someone that is expecting a child with special needs, not negative & discouraging.   Lets be a light to this horribly broken & lost world.  Together we can change this.  Join with us <3

Change the world with us!
